
CORNING, Ark. – An automobile accident from over the weekend in Clay County claimed the life of a minor who was behind the wheel.
Arkansas State Police report the incident happened at 1:36 AM Saturday morning, June 23, on Clay County Road 181. Police say a male underage driver, name unreleased, was driving a 2001 Ford F150 south on the county road. The fatal crash happened when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and rolled over, the report said, ejecting the driver.
The driver was pronounced dead on the scene by Clay County Coroner Jarred Lowe.
Another was injured, the incident report completed by Cpl. Anthony Hill said. The extent of the injuries were not specified. Names were not included in the report.
Road conditions were reported as dry with clear weather at the time of the crash. The crash summary said next of kin were notified.
