JONESBORO, Ark. – A woman was apprehended with several controlled substances after she was observed allegedly stealing a litany of items Sunday in Walmart on Highland Drive in Jonesboro.
Officer David Stout arrived on the scene shortly after 5 PM Sunday to meet with loss prevention officers. They told police the suspect, Magen Shay Goodman, 22, of Jonesboro, had been seen opening packages and concealing the items in other things in her basket.
Three pages of suspected stolen merchandise were included in the report. Included in the itemized list was a laundry basket, a soap dish, a rain jacket, markers, Dove, a bath bomb, a pencil case, facial mask, men’s tee, two push-up bras, three pairs of shorts, a tank-top, razor refills, and more items we could not identify correctly based on the report.
The officer contacted Goodman as she was exiting the outside doors and placed her in handcuffs. She was escorted back in to the loss prevention area. Police searched her purse and found cannabis, six Xanax pills, and several credit cards which were not in her name, the report said. However, the person the cards belonged to arrived at the scene and no charges stemmed from this.
Goodman was arrested for three misdemeanors: shoplifting, possession of a schedule VI substance and possession of a schedule IV substance. She was left at Craighead County Detention Center.
Jail records show she bonded out Monday morning at 8:31 AM.
