Stop the Bleeding to begin monthly class this weekend

JONESBORO, Ark. – The first monthly class of the Stop the Bleeding Foundation will be held this Saturday.

The Stop the Bleeding Foundation recently received a $150,000 grant from the Blue and You Foundation. This grant is to provide FREE life-saving medical training and equipment to Law Enforcement, Fire/Rescue, EMS, and First Responders. The goal is to train over 600 people and distribute 900 Individual First Aid Kits in 2018. Their coverage area is most of the Arkansas Delta, Northeast and North Central Arkansas. They have agencies signed up at the Federal, State, and local levels.

These classes will be held monthly at the training facility in Jonesboro. The first class is this Saturday January 27 from 8-5, and they have over 50 students attending.

This is an intense, hands-on class for the students. We will debut our TOMMannikin at this training as well! Our goal is to make this training as realistic as possible for our students.

State-wide this type of training has already resulted in over 60 lives saved in the last several years.

The new TOMMannikin can be viewed below. It’s the same one used to train Special Forces Medics.
