
MELBOURNE, Ark. – Growing cannabis was among the reasons behind several arrests in this week’s round-up from Izard County.
According to Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley, on August 30, the Arkansas National Guard Marijuana Eradication choppers, Arkansas State Police, 16 Judicial Drug Task Force, the Arkansas Game and Fish and the Izard County Sheriff’s Department flew over Izard county in search of Illegal marijuana plants. Two were arrested on separate incidents. Tony Leman Holder age 60 of Mt. Pleasant was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, marijuana. Holder was transported to the Izard County Detention Center and bonded on a $1250 bond. Holder had 6 marijuana plants growing in his back yard. Also arrested was Wilfred Lebouef age 51 of Melbourne. Lebouef was charged with possession of marijuana also. Lebouef was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center and bonded on a $1250 bond. Lebouef had two marijuana plants around his residence. Both subjects are scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court on October 5.
On August 31, Scott Vest, age 38 of Mabelville was arrested on a warrant for possession of marijuana, possession with the purpose to deliver methamphetamine and possession drug paraphernalia. Vest is incarcerated in the Izard County detention center in lieu of a $20,000 cash bond. Vest is scheduled to appear in Izard County Circuit Court on September 22.
On August 30, Memory Elizabeth Smith age 25 was arrested by Cpl. Richard Williams for obstructing governmental operations. Smith was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $620 bond. Smith is scheduled to appear in Izard Count District Court on Oct 5.
On August 30, Joshua Clark age 29 of Violet Hill was arrested by Deputy Rusty Ford for theft by receiving, no liability insurance and no vehicle license. Clark was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center and bonded on a $200 cash bond. Clark is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court on September 7.
On August 29, Rebekah Lyn Johnson age 40 of Melbourne was arrested by Sgt. Steve Davidson for disorderly conduct and drinking in public. Johnson was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $440 bond. Johnson is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court on September 21.
On August 29, Erica Lee Hellums age 46 of Horseshoe Bend turned herself in on a warrant for fraudulent practice with controlled substance, failure to appear and unlawful use of a communication device. Hellums was given an OR bond. Hellums is scheduled to appear in Izard County Circuit Court on September 22.
On September 3, Christopher David Hollowell age 31 of Melbourne was arrested by Deputy Geoffery Watts for endangering the welfare of minor 3rd degree and domestic battering 3rd degree. Hollowell was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center and given an OR bond. Hollowell is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court in Melbourne October 5.
On September 2, Cydney Diana Taylor age 22 of Calico Rock was arrested by Deputy Richard Crowe for driving while license suspended. Taylor was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center and bonded on a $365 bond. Taylor is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court in Melbourne on September 21.
On September 1, Floyd Allen Smith Jr. age 29 was arrested by Deputy Mike Foster for driving on suspended drivers license, careless driving, no insurance, no vehicle license and fictitious license. Smith was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center and bonded on a $1270 bond. Smith is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court on October 3.
On September 3, Brandon Lee Rouse age 28 of Oxford was arrested by Sgt. Steve Davidson for failure to pay fines. Rouse is incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $1440 cash bond. Rouse is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court in Horseshoe Bend on October 5.
On August 4, Shawn Leslie Hunt age 43 of Melbourne was arrested by Deputy DJ Tiernan for failure to appear. Hunt is incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $2245 cash bond. Hunt is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court in Melbourne on October 5.
On September 4, Michael Allen Liscomb age 35 of Melbourne was arrested by Deputy Richard Crowe for driving while license suspended and improper use of registration. Liscomb was incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $535 bond. Liscomb is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court on September 21.
On September 5, Jordan Riley Wiggington age 20 of Yellville was arrested by Deputy DJ Tiernan for possession of controlled substance marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wiggington is incarcerated in the Izard County Detention Center in Lieu of a $2370 bond. Wiggington is scheduled to appear in Izard County District Court on October 5.
