JONESBORO, Ark. – A serious wreck in Jonesboro on Thursday, July 20, may have been caused by a 71-year-old woman crossing the center traffic line into oncoming traffic.
At 4:25 p.m. Thursday at Stadium Boulevard, Jonesboro Police Department worked the crash involving three vehicles and loads of wreckage from the collision. The report says a 2013 Ford Escape, driven southbound by Dorthy Weaver, 71, of Searcy, crossed the centerline into northbound traffic.
It crashed into a 2008 Kia Optima, driven by Brandon Henson, 29, of Searcy.
Then, a 2010 Chevrolet HHR, driven by Kristen Sloan, 41, of Harrisburg, swerved off of the road to avoid the collision. She ended up swerving to the right and landing in a ditch.
Both Weaver and Henson were airlifted to the Regional Medical Center (The Med) in Memphis. Sloan was transported to St. Bernard’s Medical Center by ambulance.
