Domestic violence damaged motel early Thursday

JONESBORO, Ark. – After a fight early Thursday at Super 8 motel between a couple, a motel room was left damage and a man was left facing felony charges.

Officers with JPD were dispatched to 2500 South Caraway Road at about 1:05 a.m. Thursday for the disturbance. A woman said her significant other, Randy Xavier Bond, 32, of Paragould, had hit her in the face, choked her to the point she couldn’t breathe, pulled her hair, slammed her into the TV and shoved her across the room, moving the bed in the process. The woman said he was mad over their money situation and her saying she didn’t want to be with him anymore.

Officers noticed the bed was shoved across the room, the TV was broken, hair was in the garbage can and a light fixture was broken.

Bond was found sitting in a stairwell of the complex by police. He was arrested and put in his car. As the officer asked the woman for her written statement, she ripped it up.

It was taped back together and placed into evidence at JPD.

Bond was transported to Craighead County Detention Center to face a felony aggravated assault charge on a family or household member. He also faces a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge.
