Woman Sentenced to Life in Prison After Pleading Guilty to Child Rape Charges

BAY, Ark. — A woman has been sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of rape, in a child sexual abuse case prosecuted in Craighead County Circuit Court.

According to prosecutors, Jacqueline Michelle Holland, 32, entered guilty pleas to two counts of rape and numerous additional felony charges stemming from an investigation conducted by the Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division.

The case originated in March 2024 after authorities received a report from a guardian alleging sexual abuse involving three minor victims at a residence in Bay. Prosecutors said the allegations led to a joint investigation by local law enforcement and the Arkansas State Police.

As part of the investigation, prosecutors said forensic interviews were conducted with the children at the Northeast Arkansas Child Advocacy Center. Following those interviews, investigators determined the allegations were substantiated.

Prosecutors stated that a search warrant was later executed at the residence connected to the investigation, where evidence consistent with the children’s statements was recovered.

Holland was subsequently located in Dunklin County, Missouri, taken into custody, and extradited to Craighead County, where she was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center.

During court proceedings, Holland pleaded guilty to two counts of rape and other charges. Prosecutors confirmed that the court sentenced her to life in the Arkansas Department of Corrections on Friday.

Her husband, Justin Lynn Totty, 37, is still awaiting trial in the case.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
