6-year-old reportedly raped by older child

JONESBORO, Ark. – A disturbing police report in Jonesboro suggests a 6-year-old may be the victim of a sexual assault from another child.

At 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the incident report was taken at Jonesboro Police Department on Caraway Road. The complainant said she let her 6-year-old girl stay at her sister’s house while she was at work. The 6-year-old was present with another 9-year-old girl, her cousin, the report said.

The woman said when she got off work, her 6-year-old said the 9-year-old had penetrated her with her fingers. The child said she told her cousin to stop and when she did, the report says, the cousin told her to relax and take a deep breath.

The child abuse hotline was contacted.

The incident was forwarded to the Craighead County Juvenile Department.
