JONESBORO, Ark. — A judge ordered a 26-year-old Jonesboro defendant not to drive Wednesday after calling him a “danger to the public” during a court appearance on a new reckless driving charge.
Joshua Louis Prezell Williams appeared before District Judge Tommy Fowler on charges of reckless driving and illegally parking in a disabled parking space.
Fowler told Williams he would be sentenced to 180 days in jail if he entered a guilty plea to the reckless driving charge. Williams then pleaded not guilty.
The judge set bond at $7,500 cash only and ordered Williams not to operate a vehicle while the case is pending. Fowler warned that Williams would be held without bond if he is caught driving again.
Court records show Williams was convicted of reckless driving in 2024.
He was convicted of reckless driving again in September 2025, but appealed the case. The charge was ultimately reduced to careless and prohibited driving, and a fine was imposed in April 2026. Williams also pleaded guilty that month to speeding more than 15 mph over the limit.
About two months later, Williams was arrested on the latest reckless driving allegation.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
