Overnight shooting on Gee Street in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – Police worked a crime scene where several gunshots were fired at a set of apartments early Tuesday in Jonesboro.

A reader of NEA Report, Cricket Ellis, sent along video of officers placing evidence markers at a crime scene at the Home Sweet Home apartments on Gee Street, near the train tracks, in Jonesboro. It happened sometime after midnight early Tuesday, May 23. No injuries were reported.

The scene, as narrated by Ellis, is littered with shell casings from a small caliber gun. The target of the gunfire was a white pick-up truck with several bullet holes visible in the video. The passenger side window is shot out. Ellis also says an apartment was hit by the gunfire.

Despite the obvious evidence in the video, NEA Report confirmed JPD was investigating the shooting.

The citizen journalist, Ellis, said five shots were fired. He said the truck that was hit was his neighbors. Ellis sent the message at 12:40 a.m. local time, along with the attached video and photos.
