House fire blankets west Jonesboro in smoke

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Jonesboro Fire Department was battling a two-story house fire during the lunch hour, Monday.

Several engines and battalions were on scene in west Jonesboro at the 1800-block of Bunker Hill Drive at a two-story fire. The fire appeared to originate in a fireplace and spread into the attic, a battalion chief stated over radio.

Heavy fire was emerging from the residence.
