MONROE COUNTY, Ark. — Maurice Lamont Williams of Marianna was killed Oct. 1, 2026, in a crash on U.S. Highway 79, Arkansas State Police said in a preliminary summary.
The ASP summary says the driver of Vehicle 1, a 2020 International traveling northbound, crossed the center line and struck three southbound vehicles: Vehicle 2, a 2023 Ram; Vehicle 3, a 2000 Chevrolet; and Vehicle 4, a 2026 Ford. Vehicle 1 and Vehicle 3 left the roadway.
Gary Louis Caldwell of Wheatly, the driver of Vehicle 3, was also killed. Two people were injured: Tommy Lee McKinney of Moro, the driver of Vehicle 2, and another driver whose identity was withheld.
Arkansas State Police listed the crash time as 12:18 p.m., said conditions were clear and the road was dry, and identified TFC Zachary J. Means as the investigating officer. This account is a preliminary ASP summary.
