Murder suspect and victim were friends

JONESBORO, Ark. – A photo taken one week prior to the shooting death of a young woman shows both her and her alleged killer posing for a selfie.

The photo shows accused teenage murder suspect Austin Dalton “Da Shoota” Ivy, 16, along with Alicia “Bird” Carr, 21, just days before Ivy allegedly shot and killed Carr in an incident on Monday, March 27.

Less than seven days later, Carr would be dead and Ivy would be in jail, facing a capital murder charge for her death.

Ivy went before Craighead County District Judge Tommy Fowler on Tuesday, March 28, and probable cause was found to charge him with capital murder of “Bird” Carr. Ivy was ordered held without bond.

District Prosecutor Scott Ellington told NEA Report his office will charge Ivy as an adult.

Several Facebook profiles of both Ivy and Carr have been deleted following the tragic and gruesome events of Monday. NEA Report obtained a number of photos of Ivy, all the most recent profile photos of the young suspect, including several of him holding a gun. His nickname was “Da Shoota.”

Carr, meanwhile, was the driver of two young men who rode with her to confront Ivy over an alleged theft. As Carr sat in the driver’s seat, Ivy exited the North Allis Street apartment with a gun and according to the probable cause affidavit, shot Carr and killed her.
