JONESBORO, Ark. – A scam alert is being issued by the county clerk’s office.
The Craighead County Clerk’s office has become aware of a telephone scam occurring within Craighead County where individuals are being asked to provide large sums of cash in person at the Craighead County Clerk’s Office or payment over the phone via credit card due to outstanding fines and warrants.
The Craighead County Clerk’s Office does not issue fines or warrants of this kind and does not receive money for any other department that would levy such a fine.
