Suspect wanted for shoplifting ran on foot from associates

JONESBORO, Ark. – A woman is accused of shoplifting earlier this week in Jonesboro.

At 2:20 p.m. on Monday, March 20, Jonesboro Police Department was dispatched to the Walmart on Parker Road over a theft call, according to an incident report. There, an associate told police the suspect (pictured) had went across the store taking items she never intended to purchase. She began by selecting a baby monitor in the infants section, then two pairs of pants, two pairs of shirts, a hat and a tote in the clothing section. All the clothing items were removed from hangers.

At approximately 1:28 p.m., she went to the pharmacy window and made a purchase but didn’t pay for her other items, including the Dew. She then went to the Garden Center and in the very back corner, the report says she began to conceal the clothes she had selected from the store in a bag.

As she walked outside and began to exit without purchasing the items, employees confronted her – but the woman reportedly ignored them and took off running on foot in a panic. She left behind the bag filled with the items – except for the Mountain Dew.

She fled the scene in a green truck.

Authorities tried to learn of her identity from the pharmacy counter, but the medicine she purchased didn’t require a photo ID, the report said.

Anyone with information which could help police locate the Dew-drinking delinquent is asked to call JPD at 870-935-5657 or Crimestoppers at 870-935-7867 (STOP).
