Credit alert stops financial identity fraud in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – A woman reported receiving a LifeLock alert which may have saved her from becoming a victim of financial identity fraud.

downloadThe report was taken Thursday in Jonesboro, with a woman, 38, advising Jonesboro Police Department she had received the alert that morning. It said she had applied for a Capital One card, according to the report.

She told police she had never applied for this and immediately notified them of fraud.

The woman said she believes it could have been her ex-husband who has “vowed to destroy her.” She said he knew her social security number and maiden name.

The woman was given a case number by JPD.
