Jonesboro man charged with rape

JONESBORO, Ark. – A young man accused of selling marijuana to an even younger girl is alleged to have raped her, the probable cause affidavit states.

Larry D. Fowler, Jr. (featured photo), 18, of Jonesboro, is the suspect in the case. The affidavit states on Friday, March 10, a 16-year-old girl came to Fowler’s residence at 3710 Holland in Jonesboro to buy a marijuana blunt from the suspect. Once inside, before the transaction, the affidavit says the victim was made to undress completely. It then describes naked photos of the teenage girl being taken by the suspect.

A witness, described as a friend of the suspect, tried to stop the actions after the photographs, the document says.

Then, after smoking the weed, the affidavit says Xanax bars were offered to the girl who turned them down. It is then believed the Xanax pills were placed in the victim’s drink.

The suspect then allegedly forced the female to have sex with him, without consent, until the witness came through the suspect’s bedroom door and shoved the suspect off of the victim. The victim and the witness then left the residence.

Fowler is charged with rape. He bonded out of Craighead County Detention Center on Monday evening.
