JONESBORO, Ark. — A suspect was arrested after authorities said a victim found a GoPro camera with a flashing red light under her nightstand while changing in her bedroom.
Alexander W. Peck was arrested on suspicion of video voyeurism, a Class D felony. His next court date is July 30. Bond was set by Judge Barbara Halsey at $30,000 cash or surety.
According to a probable cause affidavit, authorities responded March 18, 2026, to a voyeurism complaint after the victim reported finding the camera in her room. The victim told police that only she and Peck were present in the residence at the time.
When confronted, Peck initially denied knowledge of the camera but later admitted placing it in the room to listen to conversations, according to the affidavit.
The victim seized the device, but police said the battery and SIM card had been removed by Peck. Subsequent investigation included search warrants for the device, an associated GoPro account and Peck’s cellphone.
On April 28, 2026, a forensic review of Peck’s phone revealed evidence consistent with voyeuristic activity, according to the affidavit. Police said the review found images of concealed recording devices, including a modified electrical outlet camera and camera-equipped glasses, along with photographs of unknown women taken from angles suggesting they were unaware they were being recorded.
Investigators also found application usage logs for the GoPro serial number linked to Peck’s phone that showed activity from a GoPro-related application during times consistent with the victim’s report. Police said the device was active on March 16 and March 18, 2026, including during the time the victim said she found the device under her nightstand.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
