SCAM ALERT: Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Warns Against Video Call Scam

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Following recent reports regarding a fraudulent video caller, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) urges players to use caution.

“We have been notified of a caller posing as a lottery representative, offering winning million-dollar tickets to random phone numbers,” said ASL Executive Director Sharon Strong. “To be clear, this is a scam. Players can buy lottery tickets at licensed ASL retailers, but we do not offer winning lottery tickets or other monetary prizes over the phone.”

Players who win Play It Again® Second-Chance drawings, hosted by The Club in the official AR Lottery + Club app, may be contacted regarding their win. However, this applies solely to previously non-winning instant tickets entered into the second-chance drawing. Winners will only be contacted by a lottery representative, and they can verify their win on The Club’s Drawings and Winners page.

If you are contacted about random lottery prizes or drawings you did not enter, do not respond. This is a scam. Additionally, if someone asks you to share personal information, pay a fee or visit a location other than the ASL Claim Center to claim lottery winnings, this is also a scam.

If you have been contacted by a scam caller, please email ASL Director of Investigations and Enforcement Blake Hudson at Blake.Hudson@arkansas.gov, call the Arkansas Lottery Security Hotline at 1-888-606-6292 and file a complaint with the Arkansas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.
