JPD investigating Sunday night shooting on Madera Drive

JONESBORO, Ark. – A “shots fired” call has police looking for clues late Sunday on Madera Drive in Jonesboro.

Around 8 p.m. Sunday, March 5, as many as 20 shots were fired in quick succession, witnesses told NEA Report. Jonesboro police responded and found no one hit by gunfire, according to JPD’s information specialist, Paul Holmes.

One witness said it sounded as if the gunfire was from a high-caliber rifle but another believed it sounded like a pistol. Individuals from several streets away reported hearing the gunfire. The reports suggested a small delay occurred after around the first 10 shots – with the conclusion also being fired in succession.

NEA Report will bring you the latest updates as they become available.
