
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – Williams Baptist College will host its annual Hunger Awareness Dinner on Tuesday, Feb. 21, in support of Heifer International.
The dinner’s purpose is to increase awareness about global hunger, poverty and food supply. The student-organized event is led by WBC’s chapter of Phi Beta Lambda, which is a society of business students.
Heifer International is a Little Rock based, non-profit organization whose stated mission is “to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth.”
Jake Guenrich, pastor at First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge, is set to be the event’s speaker.
The Hunger Awareness Dinner will take place in WBC’s Mabee Student Center starting at 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend and tickets are $1 for students and $5 for non-students.
Tickets may be purchased by calling Heather Parson at (870) 759-4147 or emailing her at hparson@wbcoll.edu. Participants may also purchase tickets at the door on Feb. 21.
