Hoxie Police Receive Nearly $10,000 Donation for Body Cameras, Radios

Hoxie police say a $9,894.94 donation from Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin’s office will fund four body cameras and six handheld radios to replace older equipment.

HOXIE, Ark. — A $9,894.94 donation from Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin’s office will help the Hoxie Police Department replace older body cameras and handheld radios, according to a department news release.

The department plans to use the money to purchase four new body-worn cameras through 10-8 Video and six handheld radios. The purchases will replace some of the department’s older cameras and radios, which the release describes as outdated.

The announcement, dated Oct. 16, was sent directly to NEA Report on Oct. 17 by Detective Sgt. Joshua Rakoczy. The department thanked Griffin and his staff for the contribution.

The department identifies the assistance as a donation. The release does not name a grant program or specify the account providing the money, matching requirements, spending deadlines or other conditions.

The announcement also does not provide a timetable for putting the new equipment into service.
