Beasley's death suspected to be suicide

JONESBORO, Ark. – The tragic and unexpected passing of the chair of the Jonesboro Advertising and Planning Commission was believed to be a suicide, according to the report.

Jonesboro Police Department’s incident report suggests it happened sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday morning, at 1103 Dove Road where Beasley resided. Corporal John Shipman responded to the scene and reported finding Beasley in the back yard.

Shipman noted observing a gunshot wound to the head of Beasley, believed to be self-inflicted, and caused by a shotgun.

Beasley’s roots in the area stretched back for years.
