JONESBORO, Ark. – An employee decided he really wanted to keep some of the Colonel’s original recipe for himself – but it cost him his job and could cost him more.

Around noon Tuesday, police were dispatched to the Kentucky Fried Chicken on Caraway Road. Management told police an employee had taken two boxes full of different cuts of chicken out by the dumpster and on a break, the employee pulled his car up to the stash.

However, management confronted the employee as he was attempting to load the boxes up. The suspect denied doing any wrong and was fired. He then fled the scene after the manager said he was calling police, the report said.

Alton Phillips, 35, of Jonesboro, is suspected of misdemeanor theft for the act.
