PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould man faces a Class Y felony allegation after police say he sold at least 10 grams of methamphetamine during a controlled purchase.
Eric Sullivan is accused of delivery of methamphetamine weighing at least 10 grams but less than 200 grams, according to an affidavit filed in Greene County District Court.
Investigators with the Paragould Police Department’s VICE unit conducted the controlled purchase in July, the affidavit states.
Police arranged for a confidential informant to purchase a quantity of methamphetamine weighing between 10 and 200 grams from Sullivan, who was also known as “40,” according to the document. Investigators said credible and reliable confidential informants had identified Sullivan as the person using that name.
Before and after the transaction, investigators searched the informant and the method of transportation to ensure no illegal contraband or currency was present, the affidavit states.
The transaction was recorded using audio and video equipment, according to police.
Paragould police Investigator Hunter De Sesso signed the affidavit, which was sworn Oct. 2. A judge found probable cause for an arrest warrant.
A bond form lists $100,000 surety or another form acceptable to the Greene County sheriff. A note on the document says the release decision is to be determined after Sullivan’s apprehension and arrest.
The form says any release would require Sullivan to live a law-abiding life, refrain from possessing weapons and comply with ankle-monitor requirements.
The documents do not state whether Sullivan had been arrested as of their filing.
The charge is an allegation. Sullivan is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
