Jonesboro Suspect Arrested After Police Say Fiancée Was Punched, Kicked

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro suspect was arrested after police said he punched his fiancée in the face and kicked her in the back during a disturbance call.

Thomas Manford Haney, 50, of Jonesboro, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree domestic battery, multiple offenses within a five-year look-back period, a Class D felony.

Jonesboro police responded June 25 to a residence on Olive Street for a disturbance call. When officers arrived, a female alleged victim told police her fiancé, Haney, had been involved in a verbal altercation with her.

The victim told police she was lying on the couch when Haney began punching her in the face and kicking her in the back. Officers documented visible injuries consistent with her account, including bruising on the right side of her back and red marks on her face.

A review of Haney’s criminal history showed a prior conviction for third-degree domestic battery on Oct. 4, 2023. Records indicated the previous conviction involved the same victim.

Judge David Boling set Haney’s bond at $100,000, with a requirement for an ankle monitor. His next court date is July 30.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
