Police Say Lowe’s Shoplifting Topped $1,000; Man Arrested

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro man was arrested after police said surveillance video showed him leaving Lowe’s with more than $1,000 in unpaid merchandise.

Landon Edward Wise, 41, of Jonesboro, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting greater than $1,000 but less than $5,000, a Class D felony. Bail was set at $7,500 cash or surety.

According to a probable cause affidavit, an officer assigned to the desk at the Jonesboro Police Department received a complaint on March 19, 2026, about a shoplifting incident that had happened earlier.

Police said Wise was seen on surveillance video on March 13, 2026, entering Lowe’s at 2111 Fair Park Blvd. in a black GMC four-door truck pulling a trailer.

According to the affidavit, video showed Wise entering the store, loading a shopping cart with items, stopping briefly near the self-checkout area as if to check out because an employee was nearby, and then pushing the cart out of the store without paying.

Investigators said Wise was then seen loading the merchandise into the black GMC truck and leaving the area.

The affidavit said the value of the stolen merchandise was estimated at $1,017.58.

Police said Wise’s face was clearly visible in the footage and that he was identified on video. Investigators also noted that the trailer tag returned to Wise’s father.

The affidavit also stated that Wise pleaded guilty to a prior felony theft charge on June 13, 2025.

Wise’s next court date is May 18.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
