Suspect Accused of Threatening to Kill Victim Jailed on $100,000 Bail in Paragould

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A suspect was arrested after Paragould police said a victim provided officers with a recording in which he could be heard threatening to kill them.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers responded April 10, 2026, to a residence on Lisa Street for a report of threats being made.

The victim reported that Jarmare Johnson threatened to kill them and refused to let them leave the residence, according to the affidavit.

Police said the victim provided a recording in which Johnson could be heard threatening to kill the victim. Investigators noted the recording had a timestamp from just three minutes before the victim called police.

Johnson, 24, was arrested on one count of terroristic threatening, a Class D felony.

His bail was set at $100,000 cash or surety with a no-contact order and an ankle monitor requirement.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
