Greene County Detention Officer Arrested On Felony Charge Of Furnishing Prohibited Articles

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Greene County detention officer has been arrested and charged with a felony after investigators determined she allegedly brought prohibited items into the county jail for an inmate.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, detectives received information early last week that a detention officer had been bringing items into the detention center for a specific inmate.

Investigators began reviewing detention center surveillance footage and spent several days combing through hours of video as part of the investigation.

Sheriff Brad Snyder said detectives were able to corroborate the information provided to them during that review.

During the investigation, detectives also located at least one instance in which the inmate involved — identified as a trustee — brought an item to the detention officer, who then allegedly took the item home at the end of the shift.

On March 6, 2026, District Judge Curtis Hitt signed a probable cause affidavit for the arrest of Alicia Albrecht, 40, of Paragould, on a charge of furnishing prohibited articles, a Class C felony.

Albrecht was taken into custody at the Greene County Detention Center on March 9.

Authorities said Albrecht has been relieved of her duties as a detention officer effective immediately.

The sheriff’s office said Albrecht was transported to a detention facility in a neighboring county pending a bond hearing. Bail will be set by Judge Hitt in open court later this week.

Sheriff Snyder said the investigation remains active and no additional details will be released at this time.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
