JONESBORO, Ark. — A Craighead County male was arrested on a warrant after investigators said a child under the age of 14 reported sexual abuse by a family friend.
According to a probable-cause affidavit, the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline received the report on Aug. 19. Investigators with the Crimes Against Children Division conducted a forensic interview with the child on Oct. 29.
During the interview, the child stated that the alleged abuse took place over several months in 2024 at a residence in Craighead County. The affidavit states the suspect was a trusted acquaintance of the child’s family and had unsupervised access to the child during that time.
The child’s parents told investigators they were unaware of the allegations until after they moved out of the county.
A bench warrant was issued for Glen Michael Ray, 46, who was taken into custody Dec. 5 and transported to the Craighead County Detention Center.
Ray is facing two charges of rape/assault with an object/person less than 14 years of age, Class Y felonies, and offensive relations with a child, a Class A misdemeanor. He appeared before Judge Tommy Fowler on Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, for his bail hearing, which was set at $350,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order was also issued.
His next court date is January 23, 2026.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
