JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro woman who was already on probation in a domestic-battering case pleaded guilty to a firearm charge and received another probation sentence on Oct. 5, 2026.
Roshelle Kay Rogers, 31, was sentenced to 36 months of probation for possession of a firearm by certain persons, a Class D felony, according to a sentencing order signed by Circuit Judge Chris Thyer. The order also requires forfeiture of the firearm to the Jonesboro Police Department/Drug Task Force.
Prosecutors had filed a petition to revoke Rogers’ probation in the earlier domestic-battering case following her April 5 arrest. They dropped that petition on Oct. 5, the same day she received probation in the firearm case.
According to the firearm case’s probable-cause affidavit, Jonesboro officers responded to a disturbance in the 1700 block of Magnolia Road on April 5. Rogers told officers her ex-boyfriend had come to the residence to pick up her children.
Officers reported that Rogers said she was on felony probation and had been staying at the residence for about three months. During a probation search, police found her cellphone and purse on a bed in a back bedroom and a shotgun behind the bedroom door. Rogers acknowledged having been in that room, according to the affidavit. She was arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center.
Rogers had received 18 months of probation on Jan. 12, 2026, after entering a negotiated guilty plea to second-degree domestic battering. The January sentencing order lists that offense as a Class C felony and states that the court deferred further proceedings without entering a judgment of guilt. Rogers was also ordered to complete anger-management classes and a mental-health assessment and follow all recommendations.
That case stemmed from a Nov. 27, 2025, disturbance at a residence on Hope Avenue. According to the police affidavit described in the original report, the alleged victim said Rogers became upset after he woke her to begin preparing holiday food. He told officers she swung a knife during the argument and cut his left arm.
Officers reported seeing the injury and blood on the blade of the pocketknife the alleged victim provided.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
