JONESBORO, Ark. — Alysha Bowers stopped at Southern Chef for biscuits and gravy this morning. When she noticed a man sitting outside, she thought he might enjoy breakfast, too.
That small gesture led to a moment she later shared in a public Facebook post.
As Bowers handed the man his meal, he looked up at her. She described his eyes as beautiful and piercing blue. The encounter moved her, leaving her with a lump in her throat and tears in her eyes as she walked back to her vehicle.
Then, as she pulled away, she looked back and saw another act of kindness.
A second man was beside him, handing him a Bible and praying with him.
In the space of one breakfast stop, Bowers had both offered kindness and witnessed someone else extending it. One person brought a meal. Another offered a Bible and prayer.
Bowers shared the experience as a reminder that, despite the troubling things people see on their screens and televisions, there is still much good in the world—and sometimes people are fortunate enough to witness it.
Her story was simple, but its warmth was in the details: a breakfast offered, a face remembered and a final glance before driving away.
This morning, that glance gave Bowers one more reason to believe in the goodness of the people around her.
