Jenny Crisler, a Republican, has announced her candidacy for Craighead County Tax Collector in the 2026 election.
Crisler is a long-time resident of Craighead County where she raised two children who graduated from Westside. Crisler set the standard for her children on the importance of education. She graduated from Valley View and then furthered her education, graduating from South Central Career College.
Crisler has served the citizens of Craighead County for over 35 years. Her first job was with the Jonesboro Fire Department as a secretary. She then worked in the Collector’s Office where she was Deputy Collector. She was offered and accepted a position in the Real Estate Department of the Assessor’s Office. She completed the State Assessment Training Program and received Level 4 designation as a Senior Appraiser.
“I believe my experience in working with and for the residents of the county has prepared me to serve as the County Tax Collector. My dedication to the county and my ambition to always find ways to elevate my own education are aimed at improving the efficiency of every department.”
Crisler says her life experiences have given her the understanding it takes to be over the department. With her knowledge of how the collection process works and her ability to explain the tax bills themselves, it offers the residents the opportunity to have an experienced person over the Collector’s office.
Crisler is an active member of the Republican Party and holds the position of district Chairwoman. Her love of horticulture has earned her the classification as a Master Gardner. She is a member of the StoneRidge church of Christ and says that “having God at the center of your life will always lead you to a life of integrity and love for those around you”.
“I look forward to giving back through service to my community. My work ethic and experience make me the best person for the job.”
