Former Craighead County Clerk Released From Federal Custody

JONESBORO, Ark. — The former Craighead County Clerk convicted of stealing over $1.5 million from the county has been released from federal custody.

Jacob Kade Holliday, 37, of Jonesboro, was released from federal custody on October 15, 2025, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website.

Holliday was sentenced in September 2022 to 57 months in federal prison and three years of supervised release following incarceration. The federal sentence was ordered to begin after he completed a 10-year (120-month) state prison sentence for forgery.

Law enforcement officials said Holliday admitted taking the money to fund his businesses — Holliday Development and Management LLC and Total Healthcare LLC — which operated restaurants and coffee shops in Jonesboro. Holliday told investigators he intended to repay the money but was unable to after the COVID-19 pandemic forced many of his businesses to close, according to the Justice Department.

Holliday was indicted in December 2020, when a federal grand jury charged him with 11 counts of wire fraud for each withdrawal he made from the county account. He later pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud for his first fraudulent transfer of $101,782.97 on Jan. 29, 2020, and agreed to pay $1,579,057.03 in restitution to Craighead County.

Holliday entered negotiated guilty pleas in his state case in November 2021. He pleaded guilty to four counts of theft, greater than $1,000 but less than $5,000, and one count of forgery. He received a 60-month prison sentence for the first two theft charges, 72 months SIS for the second two theft charges, and a 120-month prison sentence for the forgery charge. Because they were concurrent, Holliday’s state sentence was for 10 years.

The Jonesboro Sun reported on Friday that the county has received about $120,000 in restitution thus far.
