JONESBORO, Ark. — A 16-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting incident from Wednesday at an apartment complex across the street from the police station, JPD said on Thursday.
Around 3:02 p.m. on October 8, 2025, officers were dispatched to the Chateau Apartments in the 800 block of Caraway Road — located across from the Jonesboro Police Department — in reference to reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found one victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.
A victim was treated at the scene before being transported for medical care. Their condition was not immediately released.
At 4:40 PM, police said Jonesboro Fire and EMS responded to the Jonesboro PD for a second gunshot victim from this incident. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
On Thursday, JPD’s Sally Smith confirmed that a 16-year-old was arrested for a terroristic act, aggravated assault, and possession of a handgun by a minor. She expected he would be charged as an adult.
Detectives are conducting an active investigation, JPD’s post to social media said.
