JONESBORO, Ark. — Second Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Sonia F. Hagood announced today that a Craighead County jury found Thomas White guilty of Domestic Battery in the 2nd Degree.
Circuit Judge Randy Philhours presided over the case and followed the jury’s recommendation to sentence White to nine years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
The State was represented by Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Jessica Thomason and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Bryce Cook.
“Thanks to the jury, who gave their time and attention to this case, the exceptional advocacy of my co-counsel, and the invaluable support of our Victim/Witness Coordinator, Sarah Burnett, we can all proudly say that this community will stand up for our most vulnerable,” Cook said.
On October 26, 2024, at 5:20, Officer Keith Beeson was dispatched to a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, Officer Beeson made contact with the victim at a neighbor’s house. The victim stated that he was attacked by his roommate, Thomas White Jr., and had escaped to the neighbor’s home.
Officer Beeson observed injuries to the victim’s face and arms. The victim was transported to NEA Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
