JONESBORO, Ark. — A business owner arrested earlier this year in Jonesboro on allegations of possessing child sexual abuse material has died.
Daniel Lee Mooneyham, 53, of Jonesboro, passed away on September 5, 2025, according to an obituary from Faith Funeral Service.
Mooneyham was arrested on June 19, 2025, on one count of possession of child sexual abuse material, a Class B felony. However, charges were amended to include 40 counts. The case was scheduled for late October/November in court.
Most recently, Circuit Judge Scott Ellington signed an order reducing the defendant’s bond from $75,000 to “own recognizance” (OR, or $0). On August 29, Ellington wrote that the defendant had been in the hospital for over two weeks. The judge said his condition had significantly deteriorated, and if released from the hospital, he would need long-term care.
June Arrest
According to a probable cause affidavit, Jonesboro police began an investigation after receiving a tip from Arkansas State Police, which originated with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
That tip indicated that since 2011, material described in the affidavit as child sexual abuse content had been sent from and to the same email address, which was associated with Mooneyham.
Investigators said Yahoo provided information linking the activity to two email accounts and a cell phone number that they confirmed belonged to Mooneyham. The IP address was connected to Nostalgia World Sports Cards, 2400 E. Nettleton Avenue in Jonesboro, a business tied to him.
Authorities later executed a search warrant on the email accounts. The affidavit stated that investigators found a significant amount of illegal material within the messages.
On June 19, police served a search warrant at Nostalgia World Sports Cards. During that search, they reported finding Mooneyham’s phone, which they said contained similar images.

Why was he hospitalized from the jail? It sounds to me like they are trying to slide all around the fact that he was in custody and they ORed him because they weren’t wanting an investigation triggered by record of his death while legally in their custody. Also the only reason to be dragging the name of a dead man who hadn’t been tried nor would ever be through them mud. Ya know, so the majority of the public just wouldn’t give a damn enough to pay attention.
