JONESBORO, Ark. — A man who was initially believed to have been shot during an incident on North Allis Street was instead injured by severe lacerations, according to an updated statement from the Jonesboro Police Department.
Officers responded Monday to the 300 block of North Allis, where the man was found with serious injuries following what police now describe as an altercation. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.
The case remains under investigation, and detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division are continuing to gather information.
Police are still seeking a person of interest.
