Jonesboro Man Suspected of Drunk Driving After Crashing into Home

JONESBORO, Ark. — A man is facing several charges, including a felony, after police say he was driving while intoxicated and wrecked into a house in Jonesboro.

Matthew Kyle Huckaby, 45, of Jonesboro, was arrested early May 22 on charges including second-degree criminal mischief, a felony; DWI, refusal to submit, and reckless driving, misdemeanors; and running a stop sign, an unclassified charge.

The police report from JPD states that the suspect was driving while intoxicated between 1:15 AM and 3:30 AM on May 22 near the 600 block of Dogwood Lane when he wrecked into a house. A brick wall of the house was damaged, as was the white Ford F-150 driven by Huckaby, sustaining damage to the front bumper and engine compartment.

Police obtained a search warrant to force a blood draw of the suspect, which was taken at a local hospital, the report indicates. The blood sample was logged into evidence.

Jail records show Huckaby was booked at 3:23 AM and released the same afternoon at 4:11 PM.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  1. “A man responsible for student conduct at Arkansas State University is accused of crashing his truck into a house while drunk.” This guy will be fired, won’t he? Not holding my breath. I’m willing to wait for the final disposition of the case.

What do you think?
