JONESBORO, Ark. – Main Street in downtown Jonesboro reopened Tuesday after being partially closed for months during the demolition of the former Citizen’s Bank building.
City officials cleared the area to make way for future development, and the reopening marks the end of the demolition phase. Local leaders and residents gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the occasion.
The Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce celebrated the event on social media, calling it a “big day in Downtown Jonesboro” and thanking the community for coming out to support the project.
“We’re so excited to see the street buzzing again,” the Chamber stated.
Main Street’s complete reopening is expected to restore traffic flow and help local businesses see an increase in foot traffic.
