JONESBORO, Ark. — A man is facing a felony charge after being arrested for allegedly battering a pregnant woman in Jonesboro.
At about 9:25 p.m. on Jan. 19, 2025, officers with the Jonesboro Police Department were dispatched to an address on Phillips Drive about a domestic disturbance, according to the probable cause affidavit.
The female alleged victim said that the suspect punched her with a closed fist in the stomach area. Police noted the victim is eight months pregnant.
The woman also said she was able to get away from the defendant but when she got away, he pulled a knife on her and threatened to cut her.
Officers observed a fresh red mark on the right side of the woman’s stomach, corroborating her story of being punched. She was also transported to the hospital via EMS due to stomach pain.
Christopher Todd George, 61, was arrested for third-degree domestic battery against a pregnant woman, a Class D felony. Bail was set at $50,000 cash or surety.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
