Jonesboro Man Accused of Assault, Terroristic Threatening Following Break-Up

JONESBORO, Ark. — A suspect is facing multiple charges after a probable cause affidavit accused him of threatening a woman who was trying to break up with him.

On Jan. 18, 2025, officers with the Jonesboro Police Department were dispatched to an area where a disturbance was reported. The probable cause affidavit said police arrived to find a man chasing a woman on foot. Officers contacted both, but the male continued to walk away until he was told to stop. He was detained at that point.

The female told officers she had broken off the relationship with the defendant but he began to become aggressive. She said she had met with him at her residence so he could get some items that belonged to him. When she went to leave, he grabbed her shirt and pulled her back, the woman said.

The defendant is alleged to have told the victim that not even a restraining order would stop him from seeing her. The woman attempted to flee but the defendant reportedly said if she did not stop, he was going to pull a knife on her. The woman asked him to leave her alone but the male is accused of responding that if she didn’t stop, he was going to “have someone kill you.”

The woman added that he grabbed her by the hair while in possession of a knife and told her he was going to kill her if she tried to leave him. Finally, the woman got away and was able to enter a business to call the police.

Harold Landon Lee, 26, of Jonesboro, was arrested for first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class D felony, and third-degree assault on a family or household member, a Class C misdemeanor. His bail was set at $25,000 cash or surety with a GPS ankle monitor required for release. His next court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 28, 2025.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
