JONESBORO, Ark. — A man is accused of second-degree sexual assault in a probable cause affidavit filed last week in Jonesboro.
On Dec. 11, 2024, officers with the Jonesboro Police Department were notified of a possible sexual assault involving a child under the age of 14. The juvenile was interviewed and disclosed that a 25-year-old cousin had sexually assaulted them while in bed watching TV.
The allegations are sexually explicit. Without reporting disturbing details, the affidavit alleged that the suspect forced the victim to perform a sex act with hands. The affidavit also alleges the suspect attempted to force the victim’s head down to his private area before the alleged victim pulled away, ran to their room, and began crying.
The mother of the child confronted the suspect. The affidavit alleges that he confessed to having the child perform the act.
Daviyon Allen Gordon, 25, of Warren, Michigan, was arrested on Dec. 24 for second-degree sexual assault, a felony. Bail was set by Judge Barbara Halsey at $75,000 cash-only. One of the conditions, if bail is met, is that Gordon has no contact with the victim, witness, or any minor female under the age of 18.
His next court date is set for February 28, 2025.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
