JONESBORO, Ark. — A man is accused of breaking into the home of a former romantic partner and assaulting both her and another male in Jonesboro.
The probable cause affidavit revealed more, stating that on Nov. 17, officers responded to the 500 block of W. Thomas Avenue about a residential burglary. The affidavit says while a woman was lying in bed, the defendant unlawfully entered the residence, went into the bedroom where she was, and began attacking her and a male who was in the room with her. The woman reported he hit her in the head and choked her while the male had scratches and bruising.
The defendant was in a prior romantic relationship with the alleged victim, the affidavit noted. However, police said he had never lived there and had no belongings in the residence.
Officers arrived and reported observing the defendant fighting with a group of people. The defendant walked away on foot as officers attempted to break up the fight. However, his vehicle was still parked in a neighbor’s driveway on W. Thomas.
Officers took the defendant into custody near Madison and College, approximately a block from the 500 block of W. Thomas.
The defendant, Marlon Lemont Tramble, 35, of Brookland, faces charges including aggravated residential burglary, a Class Y felony punishable by 10 to 40 years or life in prison; third-degree battery, a class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail; and second-degree assault on a family or household member, a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail.
On Wednesday, Nov. 20, Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause to charge Tramble. The judge noted it was his third offense in the last two years and that he was already on probation. With that in mind, the judge set bail at $250,000 cash or surety with a no-contact order in place for the alleged victim.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
