JONESBORO, Ark. — Two women from Little Rock are suspected of a felony theft earlier this year at a retailer in Jonesboro.
On May 14, 2024, officers with the Jonesboro Police Department responded to 1127 S. Caraway Road, the address for the Caraway Plaza Shopping Center, about a theft that had already occurred. Officers made contact with the complainant who said two females came inside, seemingly to shop, according to the probable cause affidavit.
One of the female suspects took one of the handheld baskets belonging to Bath and Body Works and filled it with approximately 12 to 18 of their three-wick candles, police said. The other female was pushing a baby stroller around the store, putting merchandise inside the stroller. Both left the store without paying for the items. The manager told police the value of the stolen items was $1,257.
An employee followed the women to the parking lot and attempted to stop them, but was not successful. The affidavit says the suspects threw the stolen goods into a Gray Honda Accord and left the parking lot. However, the employee was able to get the tag number, AUA40J, which came back to Eniyah Pride out of Little Rock.
Police reviewed the video footage and sent the photos to the Arkansas Fusion Center Facial Recognition Center. They determined one of the suspects to be Pride. The second suspect was identified as Rhakelle Brown, 29, of Little Rock.
On August 31, Brown was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center on a charge of theft, greater than $1,000 but less than $5,000, a Class D felony punishable by up to six years in prison. She also has holds on her from other law enforcement agencies.
On Tuesday, Sept. 3, her bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety. Her next court appearance is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on October 28, 2024.
Court records show Eniyah Pride, 20, was arrested in July for the same charge. She was released after posting a $50,000 cash or surety bond. The latest update to the case was a continuance requested by the defendant, setting her case for a motion and plea day of November 15 and a jury trial for Dec. 9 through Dec. 13.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
