JONESBORO, Ark. — Two shootings, each involving a gunshot victim, were reported today in Jonesboro. On Monday, incident reports for both were released.
As of this report, the Jonesboro Police Department was on the scene at the 3200 block of Fairview Drive, near the intersection with Mary Jane, according to the desk sergeant at JPD. Sergeant Smith told NEA Report the first 911 call came in at 6:03 PM.
The police report was released on Monday. It states that an argument was involved, leading to the shooting. The suspect allegedly shot into the vehicle, injuring the victim.
A 20-year-old male victim was shot in this incident, suffering a bullet wound in the left shoulder blade. His injuries were described as non-life threatening, the desk sergeant said on Sunday.
A juvenile male suspect, 17, was arrested in the incident. He faces charges of first degree battery, terroristic act, and possession of a schedule VI substance, greater than four ounces.

Another shooting was reported early Sunday morning in Jonesboro.
Around 12:17 AM, a shooting incident was reported in the 1600 block of Virginia Drive, the desk sergeant said.
The incident report released on Monday says an argument between acquaintances led to the explosive confrontation. A 55-year-old female was shot in the leg, suffering a wound to the upper back of her left leg and a wound on the right calf. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The report also states that two children, ages 9 and 10, were present.
Drekhari R. Nesby, 25, of Blytheville, was arrested on charges including first-degree battery, a felony; first-degree criminal mischief, a felony; first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, a felony; and misdemeanors for contempt of court and obstructing governmental operations.

Two others were arrested for obstruction, a misdemeanor, in connection with the case.
A person of interest was also identified in the case, described as a black male, 25-35, 5’9″ with short hair. Late Sunday, JPD’s Sally Smith said authorities were seeking that individual.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
