Suspect Arrested on Two Counts of Rape in Paragould

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A suspect is facing two Class Y felonies for the alleged rape of a minor in Paragould.

The probable cause affidavit states that on July 24, 2024, the Arkansas Department of Human Services received a referral for investigation in reference to a 14-year-old female being forced to participate in sexual acts with the suspect.

The victim was interviewed and told investigators she was forced into participating in sexual acts with the man that would constitute rape under Arkansas law, according to the affidavit.

Alan Oliver, 35, was arrested on Thursday. He is facing two charges of rape, a Class Y felony in Arkansas. A Class Y felony is punishable by 10 to 40 years or life in prison.
