JONESBORO, Ark. – A man is being charged with a felony count of battery after a police report alleged he attacked medical workers in Jonesboro.
Officers responded after 6 PM on July 19, 2024 to St. Bernards, 225 E. Washington Avenue. The call to authorities reported a disturbance. Officers arrived and were told the suspect had attacked and spat on health care workers, in addition to shouting curse words.
A 21-year old medical worker reported redness on the left side of his face from the temple to the cheek after being struck.
Police arrested John Calvin Simpson, 66, of Jonesboro, on charges that include 2nd degree battery that injures a medical worker, a felony. Simpson also faces revocation of his probation, records show.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
