BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. – A man was hit by a bullet fragment in the head this week in Blytheville, a press release from the police department said.

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, Officers of the Blytheville Police Department were notified by Great River Medical ER staff that a subject had arrived at the ER stating he had been “shot” in the head.
Upon further investigation it was discovered that the victim was outside his home in the 2400 block of Carolyn with his dogs. Two male subjects were walking down the street and when hearing the dogs, retrieved weapons from their person and began shooting at the dogs when the dogs began to run toward them. The victim appeared to have been injured by a bullet fragment as a result of the incident.
