GOSNELL, Ark. — The Gosnell Police Department says two state agencies are reviewing matters involving a former department member and allegations concerning overtime and other potential misconduct.
In a statement addressing recent social media posts, the department said the concerns had been referred to outside agencies for independent review.
The statement did not name the former department member or either state agency. It also did not provide details about the overtime allegations or other potential misconduct.
“Because these reviews may involve ongoing investigations or administrative proceedings, the Gosnell Police Department cannot comment on the scope, status, or potential findings of those reviews,” the statement said.
The department said it has implemented changes since Chief Chris Lassley took office to strengthen oversight and accountability. Those changes include a defined chain of command and additional review and validation procedures, according to the statement.
“We want our citizens to know that legitimate concerns will be addressed through the proper process, regardless of an individual’s current or former position with the department,” the statement said.
The department encouraged anyone with questions or concerns to contact it. Residents may also request a time to speak directly with Lassley, Detective Joshua Bromley or Sgt. Zachary Phillips.
